If the sale is cancelled, who keeps the deposit?

Once a PawCover transaction is initiated:

If the buyer cancels: The deposit is typically retained to respect the breeder's time, but the remaining balance is returned to the buyer.

If the breeder cancels: The full payment amount is returned to the buyer.

Note: If you have concerns about the welfare of a pet or if a breeder stops responding, you may be entitled to a deposit refund. Please ask the breeder to contact us to request a cancellation. If they refuse or stop replying, let our support team know immediately.

Is there a fee for PawCover?

Pets4Homes is committed to being transparent about the fees charged to users.

We believe in being transparent about how we protect our community.

For Breeders: There is no cost to use PawCover. It allows you to focus on your pets while we handle the infrastructure and secure payouts after collection.

For Buyers: A protection fee is applied when you transact through the platform. The exact amount is shown clearly before you proceed, so you can make an informed choice for your family.

  • The fee is a percentage of the total price of your pet with a minimum of £10. The exact amount will be shown to you before you proceed with the payment.
  • The fee provides you with the 6-month health guarantee for when things don't go according to plan.
  • The fee covers mediation services in case of any disputes or issues that arise between you and the seller. Pets4Homes will act as a mediator and help to resolve any disagreements.
