Email Notification and Chat Issues

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Why is my chat disabled in the app?

Right now, our mobile app is unable to support the Pet Payments service. If you find a chat between you and a buyer is disabled, this means the buyer has made a Pet Payment request and you should continue managing their payment request on a PC, laptop, or in the browser of your mobile phone. We plan to bring the service to our mobile app shortly.

My messages are not being sent to the seller

There are a few factors that can result in your messages not being sent to the seller you have contacted via chat. Here are a few examples:

  • The details in your message contains blacklisted information.
  • Your IP location is on a blacklist, for example if your country has been identified as a common place from where scam e-mails are sent.

I received a chat notification but I can't see any new messages

Sometimes you might receive a notification via email or push notification that you have a new message but when you go to Pets4Homes chat, there are no new messages showing. This is likely because the user who sent you a message deleted it before you could read it.

Reasons a user might delete a message include:

  • A buyer changed their mind about purchasing your pet
  • The pet is no longer available so the seller deleted their reply
  • A user sent a message to the wrong person by accident

If you already have a chat open with the other person, you can send them a message to check that everything is okay. If a user deletes the first message in a conversation with you, there is no way to reply back to them so you can skip that user and concentrate on other conversations.

Why am I not receiving any e-mails from Pets4Homes?

Sometimes e-mails from Pets4Homes can be marked as spam by standard e-mail systems. The only way to ensure that you will always receive all future e-mails from Pets4Homes is to add our trusted support e-mail address (support@pets4homes.co.uk) to your safe senders list and address book in your e-mail client.
