At Pets4Homes, the safety and welfare of pets is always our top priority. With this in mind, we have made the adoption category exclusive to official rescue centres and charity organisations. This means you now have a dedicated space to help find kind and loving homes for pets in need!
What has changed?
We are now conducting manual checks on all rescue accounts advertising on Pets4Homes. Only approved rescue centres will be permitted to advertise in the adoption category, meaning that individuals and breeders may no longer rehome pets in this section. While we understand this may be a change for some, we believe it’s an important step to ensure that adopted pets are rehomed safely. We are also happy to share that the adoption category will remain free for UK rescues! You may still purchase boosts for your listings, if desired.
How do I get approved?
If you are a UK-based charity or rescue centre, we kindly ask that you take a moment to update your account details and ensure that they are accurate. Please send us as many of the following as possible so that we may verify your details now:
- Your official registration number and a link to your page on the UK register of charities
- Your ADCH membership details
- Your official website
- Your social media links (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Any other relevant documentation verifying your organisation’s status
If you’ve already provided this information, there's no need to send it again!
What if I'm not registered with the government?
We take the concerns of non-registered rescues and smaller organisations seriously, and have the utmost appreciation for the work that genuine rescue groups are doing.
This is why we also offer inclusion to non-registered UK rescues.
As long as an organisation can prove that they have an honest online presence and are "established" in the community, we will accept and approve them. For example, ADCH members are not always registered with the government but we approve accounts for their members.
You do not need to provide all items on the list provided, only as many as you are able to provide so that we can determine the legitimacy of your group and verify that the account was not simply created to sell pets for profit.
Where do I send my organisation's information?
Please contact us using this form and attach all relevant documentation for your rescue.
What about volunteers or fosters?
Each rescue centre may have one official Pets4Homes account linked to your organisation’s official email. Volunteers or fosters using a personal email should switch their account type to "Individual" and list their pets in the For Sale section. This measure helps ensure that the adoption category remains secure and protected from bad actors.
What if I am not a rescue centre or charity?
As a non-rescue user, we ask that you please change your account type to "Individual" or "Breeder" as relevant if this is not already done.
If you have already made listings in the adoption category, we ask that you please re-list these in the "For Sale" section and close any in the adoption category
Moving forward, please be sure to only advertise in the "For Sale" section.
