We know how exciting—and sometimes challenging—it can be to find the perfect pet. That’s why we’re introducing Premium, a helpful new way to get an edge when demand is high.
What is Premium?
Premium is a 30-day service that gives you as a buyer a little head start when new pet listings go live. It’s not a subscription and there’s no auto-renew—it is a one-time purchase for 30 days of perks.
Why have we introduced Premium?
In certain pet categories, we’ve seen that demand far outweighs supply. We created Premium to give serious, responsible pet lovers an opportunity to stand out—without disadvantaging sellers or compromising on trust and safety.
Good to know: Pets4Homes remains fully usable without opting for Premium. If Buyer Premium doesn’t feel right for you, the platform remains fully usable without it.
What do I get with Premium?
- Early access to listings: See and message new listings before regular buyers.
- Priority chat visibility: Your messages will be highlighted in the seller’s inbox so you stand out as a serious buyer as seen below.

How long does Premium last?
30 days. We’ll send you an email when it ends.
Can I extend or renew?
Yes—but only after it expires. You’ll be prompted next time you try to message a listing.
Will this guarantee I’ll get the pet I want?
Unfortunately not. It just helps improve your chances in competitive categories.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
There’s no way to cancel once purchased, and we don’t offer refunds if you don’t find a pet. See our T&C here.

Premium is a 30-day service for buyers in high-demand categories. While the feature is buyer-focused, it brings several quiet but powerful benefits to you as a seller, too.
Why are we doing this?
In certain pet categories, the number of buyers far outweighs the number of available pets. This can lead to an overwhelming number of enquiries—many of which aren’t too serious just yet.
With Premium, we’re giving motivated, responsible buyers a way to stand out—helping you spot genuine interest faster, and avoid ‘timewasters’ more easily.
How does Premium work?
Buyers who choose this optional add-on for 30 days will:
- See new listings slightly earlier than others
- Have their messages highlighted in your inbox as seen below
- Get instant alerts when a new listing that matches their search is posted
It’s a one-time purchase (no subscriptions), and only available in categories where buyer demand is particularly high.
What changes for me as a seller?
In essence, nothing really changes for you as a seller. You will still have full control over who you want to rehome your pets to. But here’s what you might notice:
- Premium buyers’ messages stand out – so you can prioritise who you want to reply to
- More relevant enquiries – from people who are actively looking and willing to invest in finding the right pet
- No added work for you – listings, chats, and settings stay exactly the same
You are still completely free to choose the buyer that feels right for your pet. Premium doesn’t force your hand—it simply helps you see who’s most invested.
Q&A
Is this limiting who I can talk to?
Not at all. Non-Premium buyers can still contact you after a short waiting period. You’ll never lose access to any buyer.
Will Premium buyers expect priority treatment?
They’re encouraged to be proactive, but you're never required to favour them. It’s your choice who gets the home.
What if I see fewer chats from buyers?
We’re closely monitoring this. If needed, we’ll automatically extend Boosts by one extra day to maintain visibility—at no cost to you.
Can I message Premium buyers first?
You can only message them when they’ve reached out to you. As always, you stay in control of who you speak to and when.
